June 13, 2017

Acupressure is a good way to ease body pain. Below I will hand you 7 "keys" towards body pain, and you can use them to help yourself.

1.

Headache: massage the area between eyebrows

No matter because of a cold or feeling distraught, headache often comes along. You may your thumb and index finger to gently pinch and massage this area until a slight numbing and swelling sensation. A red or purple mark Sha would appear if you do have problem, just like the Sha from scraping. Usually 2-minute pinching, with slow and steady technique, is good enough .

Here locates an important acupuncture point called Yin Tang between the two eyebrows. Yin Tang is on Du Channel. Massage Yin Tang promotes Qi and blood moving through Du, helps headache and nose problems.

2.

Lower back pain: use your own hands to warm up lower back

Rub your own hands warm, place them either side of the small of back. Wait a little while, then push them downward to tailbone. Do 50 ~ 100 times , every morning and evening.

Lower back, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, is where Dai Mai travels through, especially the area where kidneys are located. Kidneys love warmth, with aversion to cold. Regular massage of this area can warm up Kidney Yang and unblock Qi and blood circulation, therefore helps reduce lower back pain.

3.

Toothache: press Hegu and Xiaguan

Two acupuncture points can help ease toothache, they are Hegu and Xiaguan.

One is called Hegu, located on the dorsum of the hand, between the first and second metacarpal bones, at the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone and close to its radial border. When you press it, press it towards the direction of pinky to achieve best result, instead of pushing downward to the palm.

Xiaguan is located at the lower border of the zygomatic arch, in the depression in front of the mid ear.

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that hand Yangming channel goes into lower teeth and foot Yangming channel goes into upper teeth. Hegu is a point on hang Yangming and Xiaguan is a point on foot Yangming. Acupressure on these two points help reduce toothache.

This point Shoulder Well can directly or indirectly help many conditions such as achy shoulders, tired eyes, ringing in the ear, high blood pressure, stiff neck etc.

The correct way is that, 4 fingers close together to grab where the point is located. The 4 fingers and thumb push against each other to do rhythmic grabbing. For those who have high blood pressure and cardiovascular problems, the grabbing should not be too forceful and last too long. For those who are pregnant, this act is forbidden.

Heart pain: press the Inner Pass

From the wrist joint, measure 3 fingers' width up. Between the tendons of palmaris longus and flexor carpi radials, there is a key called Inner Pass to many conditions related to the heart. Inner Pass, in Chinese Keiguan, is the Luo-connecting point of the pericardium channel. You can press this point for 5 minutes to unbind the chest, regulate heart Qi and reduce discomfort as an adjunctive therapy.
